Amy Schumer on her Emmy noms: 'I feel like I just had the best orgasm'

Amy Schumer is having the best week ever. Not only is her movie Trainwreck coming out Friday, but her series, Inside Amy Schumer, landed four Emmy nominations including one for Schumer in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category. EW talked to Schumer about her big morning and year.

You’re having such a good week!

This is a really good week.

How do you feel right now?

I feel like I just had the best orgasm. I looked at my sister’s face, she’s throwing up that I said that. Yeah, it feels like I just had the best orgasms I didn’t even know I was capable of having. I can’t catch my breath. We were jumping up and down on the bed screaming, we’re so excited. My sister’s a writer on the show and we got nominated for writing, and I’m especially moved and excited about getting nominated for directing. That’s really special for me. And then Paul Giamatti! It’s so cool when someone does you a favor, it’s such a reward.

Do you think you’ll bring your sister to the Emmys? Who’s your dream date?

Well, she’s nominated so she’ll definitely be there, she’ll definitely be my date.

Is the Paul Giamatti sketch your favorite?

“Twelve Angry Men” is my highlight. That’s my baby.

Why do you love that so much?

I worked my ass off writing that. We recreated the movie and we shot it in the whole episode. I’ve worked harder on that than anything else. I feel like a badass for getting nominated.

Are you going to party? I heard you have to go straight to Australia.

Yeah, I have to fly to Australia but you can bet your sweet ass I’m drinking on the plane.

Was there anything that was nominated that you were really psyched about?

Tatiana Maslany! My sister and I love Orphan Black and she’s like the most talented person ever, so we were equally as excited about Tatiana. And Bill Hader got nominated, he’s the greatest. I’m really excited about that.

How do you top this year? This is like the greatest year of your life.

No, this is it for me. That’s it. It’s going to be the best year of my life, and then I’m going to gain a lot of weight and open a bed and breakfast and live in seclusion. That’s it. I’ll be a tour guide at the Lizzie Borden house.
